Support for Employers when making staff redundant

The market has been ever changing at the moment and this has presented many challenges for organisations responding to this. You might now be in a position where your organisation has had to unfortunately make roles redundant. The important thing to convey to staff is it’s the role that is being made redundant and it’s not personal. Although there will challenging conversations to be had and these are never pleasant you can make the experience as positive as possible.  There are different ways to support your team through this and this is where The CV Guru can help you with this.

We offer packages to employers where we will work with those affected by redundancy to provide them with a brand-new CV, ensuring this is tailored towards the roles they plan on applying for. We can even provide a session on how to effectively use LinkedIn to search for work.  This can really help take the stress away from them and ensure that they know you are supporting them through this difficult period.

How does the process work?

  • Drop us an email at admin@thecvguru.co.uk with how many roles you may be making redundant and the timescales you are working to if you know. If you would prefer to have a chat with us over the phone, then please let us know and we can schedule a call with you.
  • We will then provide you with a proposal and fees for your consideration.

What happens next?

  • We request 50% of the total fee upfront before we commence work.
  • We will provide you with communication for you to send out to the affected team members with your approval, so the process and experience is consistent for everyone.
  • For those with existing CVs we will request information from them such as job roles they wish to apply for and ask for other information we feel may be missing so we can showcase their experience. For those without CVs we will send them a form to complete so we can gain the required information.
  • The person will then be introduced to their writer and be able to communicate with them directly (phone or email whatever works best for them).
  • Our writers will provide a first draft of their CV to them within five to seven working days.
  • There is a 100% satisfaction guarantee so anything that needs adjusted will be carried out until they are completely happy with the end result.
  • Once all of the team have had their CVs completed, we will then request the remainder of the fee.

FAQs regarding this process

I am making multiple roles redundant can you write a for a range of industries?

The job roles do not have to be similar for this service. The CV will be bespoke to the person’s industry and be tailored towards the roles they plan on applying for. We write CVs for all industries except for medical practitioners.

How do you devise the fees?

We will take into consideration our standard fees while assessing the job roles affected and the volume of people requiring CVs before providing you with a bespoke quotation.

Our budget is tight do you offer any other cheaper support services?

Yes, we can provide a group CV writing session where we will train people on how to write their own CVs, this will include sending them templates for them to populate. We can provide a shorter session where people will be able to utilise the information and write their CV after.  Or we can provide a longer session where people can write their CVs with our guidance there and then within the session. This can all be done virtually or in person dependant on the location.

How does the LinkedIn for job searching session work?

We will organise a group virtual session for 45 minutes that your team can attend. This will cover how to optimise their LinkedIn profiles for jobsearching, how to connect with people in their industry, and what to post about with the opportunity for questions at the end. We can also record this session with your permission for anyone unable to attend.

What format will the CVs be presented in?

The CVs are emailed to each person in a word and pdf format. This means they will be able to update it again themselves in the future.

How long will it take for the CV to be written?

Depending on numbers this will take five to seven working days for a first draft of the CV to be provided.

Will the CVs be ATS compliant?

All our CVs are ATS compliant in terms of layout and key word optimisation. We will also provide advice on how each person can slightly adjust their CV to each position they apply for.

We know that making roles redundant is a challenging process for all those involved. We will work sensitively with your team to make the transition as smooth as possible while building their confidence in approaching the job market. Please do reach out with any questions.
